Our library has very little genealogical research materials.
The Marshalltown Public Library has an extensive collection of genealogical materials including local family histories, cemetery records and other items of interest. Contact them at (641) 754-5738 .
Le Grand Newspapers can be found on the Tama County Historical Society & Genealogical Library website
The Historical Society of Marshall County may also be of assistance.
Another path is Family Search (https://www.familysearch.org/search). It is operated by the Mormons. It is a free site and when you create your own log-in, you get access to 5 or 6 different other sources, one of which is Ancestry, for free. If you are of that Faith and can prove it, you get even more access. Family Search works best if folks are searching for deceased ancestors. It was a fascinating presentation.
